We want to make it as easy as possible for you to understand what we do, how to get help, and how to get involved. Here are some of the questions we hear most often.
Who can receive help from Being Human USA?
Anyone in the community who needs food or basic necessities. We do not require proof of income, identification, or residency status. If you need help, you are welcome.
How often can I come?
Please check our distribution schedule on the Need Help page for current details on frequency and timing.
Do I need to sign up in advance?
No. You can walk in during any of our scheduled distribution times. No appointment or registration is required.
What is in the food boxes?
Each box contains a mix of non-perishable groceries including canned vegetables, beans, rice, pasta, cereal, and cooking oil. When available, we also include fresh produce and refrigerated items. Every box also comes with personal hygiene products and household essentials.
Can I volunteer?

Can I donate food instead of money?
Absolutely. We accept donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and household necessities. Contact us to arrange a drop-off or to organize a food drive in your community.
How can I organize a food drive for Being Human USA?
We love when community members, schools, workplaces, and congregations organize drives on our behalf. Email us at info@beinghumanusa.org and we will send you everything you need to get started, including collection guidelines and promotional materials.
Is Being Human USA a registered nonprofit?
Yes. Being Human USA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. Your donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our EIN is available upon request.
How is my donation used?
Every dollar goes toward purchasing food, hygiene products, and household essentials for distribution, as well as covering the operational costs of getting those supplies into the hands of the people who need them. We are committed to transparency and good stewardship of every gift we receive.
